BLSI - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (Initial Course) – 4 Hours
For healthcare providers (EMS personnel, PAs, MDs, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and others who must have a card documenting successful completion of a CPR course. This is the initial course for those who have never received a BLS card or their card has already expired. Topics include BLS CPR, adult and pediatric CPR (including 2- rescuer scenarios and use of the BVM), Foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO), and use of the automated external defibrillation (AED) with CPR. Upon successful completion of a written and practical exam, participants will receive an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card valid for 2 years from date of issue.
BLSR - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (Refresher) – 2.5 Hours
For healthcare providers (EMS personnel, PAs, MDs, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and others who must have a card documenting successful completion of a CPR course. This is the refresher course for those who currently have a valid BLS card and their card has not yet expired. Course participants MUST present their current card at time of class in order to test. Upon successful completion of a written and practical exam, participants will receive an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card valid for 2 years from date of issue.
